This is your simple three conductor sensor cable with electrode pad leads. These cables are 24" long and feature a 3.5mm audio jack connector on one end with snap style receptacles for biomedical sensor pads. Each cable comes in a red/blue/black set.

These defibrillation electrodes are for the Philips HeartStart FRx AED. They're packaged in a plastic case, which fits into the FRx semi-rigid carry case. Like other AED pads, SMART Pads II are one-time use and disposable. Order an extra set to keep your FRx AED ready for action and make sure you keep an eye on the expiration date printed on each electrode pad set. SMART Pads II have an expiration date of at least 24 months from date of manufacture and need to be replaced when they expire to keep the AED in working order.

The Philips FRx Infant/Child Key converts the FRx into a pediatric defibrillator. You can use the same SMART Pads II for infants, adults, and children with this product which eliminates the need to order and keep track of multiple types of electrode pads for various age groups.

These electrode pads can connect and be used with Philips HeartStart FR2, FR2+, FR3 AEDs and the Philips HeartStart MRx, XL, XLT and XL+, which are ALS defibrillators used by medical professionals. This product is compatible with most of the Philips line of AEDs, however, the electrode pads will only register as preconnected pads in the FRx and FR3 AEDs. We suggest you purchase device-specific electrode pads for the Forerunner and FR2 AEDs and all ALS defibrillators. SMART Pads II are not compatible with the HeartStart OnSite (HS1) or Forerunner AEDs.

For example, you could consider stimulation current therapy with a TENS device. Thereby, electrical impulses are transmitted to your skin, which should ultimately relieve the pain. But remember: Such a TENS therapy (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) only works if you use the right electrodes for your application.

A real all-rounder electrode is the square Standard electrodes with the size 5 x 5 cm, which is frequently used and is supplied as standard with axion instruments. Other electrodes adhere better to some parts of the body, such as the knee, foot or wrist, and can therefore be more effective.

For pain in special areas of the body such as the neck-shoulder area, it is recommended to use electrodes specially made for this purpose. These adapt themselves optimally to certain body parts, thus facilitating the application and at the same time increasing the effectiveness.

At neck pain instead of the normal 5 x 5 cm electrodes, those with the shape of a butterfly are recommended. Since you only need to attach one electrode and not four individual 5 x 5 cm electrodes, you can attach the special electrode correctly without any help. This ensures a uniform distribution of the stimulation current.

If you are suffering from back pain, we recommend our patented back pain electrode, which is an ultra long back pain electrode. This is a single 20 x 12 cm electrode pad, which you can usually attach to the back of the instrument without any external help.

When making your selection, always focus on the pain points with which you want to treat your pain. In this way you create ideal conditions. For most patients, simply use the normal electrode pads, which are also included in the scope of delivery of all axion TENS devices. You will find further special electrodes with us:

Some areas of the body, such as the arm, foot or knee, require special electrodes that are gently positioned, enclose everything and fit perfectly during movement. Due to the elastic cuffs, which have been worked into the silver yarn, the electrodes fit perfectly and the stimulation current can be transmitted evenly. In addition, textile electrodes with a long service life are convincing.

Wrists are a common site for persistent pain. With the textile electrode for the wrist you have a special electrode that fits gently and encloses everything. The elastic cuffs, into which silver yarn has been worked, transmit the time current evenly and convince by a long durability.

You suffer from foot pain in the foot or ankle? Normal electrodes do not hold as desired? With axion's stimulation current socks you can take comfortable and targeted action against a whole range of complaints. Arthritis, arthrosis and rheumatism are only a few of the possible applications.

In order that the pain therapy with TENS has the expected effect, you must ensure the correct functionality of the electrodes. But this is more complicated than it actually is. At the core, you only need to make sure that the pads are undamaged, clean and free of contamination.

If any of the above does not apply, you should replace the electrodes before starting to apply stimulation current. Then reattach the electrodes to the plastic film for protection. Wear can be minimized if you clean the skin area before applying the electrodes, for example with a special electrode spray.

Otherwise, you should only make sure that you can maximize the effect on certain bodies if you use electrodes specifically designed for this purpose. Although standard electrodes can be used almost anywhere on the body, they are often more complicated to use than specialty electrodes. If something is unclear in the choice of pads, please consult our experts in advance.

Topic: Compatibility Different manufacturers use different connection types for their devices. All of the axion TENS devices have a universal 2mm plug connector for electrodes, for which you can of course buy numerous electrodes (sets) in this shop. These fit also to most devices of other manufacturers with plug connection.

To achieve a beneficial result, it is usually sufficient to use two to a maximum of four electrodes on small areas. For larger areas such as the back, abdomen and thighs or when treating several parts of the body at the same time, more pads are optimal. The simultaneous placement of up to eight electrodes is possible.

If there are advantages for you, if you choose a TENS device with more electrodes, it always depends on where you feel pain, whether you are doing a pure pain therapy or want to complement this with preventive muscle stimulation.

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is a therapy that uses low voltage electrical current to provide pain relief. A TENS unit consists of a battery-powered device that delivers electrical impulses through electrodes placed on the surface of your skin. The electrodes are placed at or near nerves where the pain is located or at trigger points.

The battery-powered TENS device is about the size of a small cell phone. The device comes with several sets of electrode wires and end pads. The electrodes connect to the device at one end and are attached to about 2 inch by 2 inch pads at the other end. Each pad has an adhesive backing and is positioned on your skin in specific areas along nerve pathways in the area to be treated. (Instead of direct contact with the skin, an acupuncturist may connect the TENS unit to acupuncture needles.)

TENS therapy has few reported side effects. In rare cases, patients have reported burns at the sites where the electrodes are placed. Some patients may be allergic to the adhesive used to affix the pad to the skin or the materials in the pad itself (the skin may appear red, irritated, or a rash may break out). Some people may be sensitive to or feel uncomfortable with the prickling/tingling sensation generated by the TENS unit.

In order for a TENS unitto provide proper pain relief, it is imperative that the device is placed inthe appropriate location. Determining exactly where the pain in the knee islocated is crucial, as this is the location where the pads need to be placed.

You also need todetermine how many pads you need to place on the localized area of knee pain. Two or four pads are most commonly used to treat pain. Two pads are typically used while four electrode pads will cover a wider area. The spot where you will place the pads of your portable TENS unit depends onwhere the source of your pain is located. Common locations for pad placementinclude:

Typically for the placementof the pads, you should avoid the kneecap. Generally, when using the TENSpads, you want to surround the kneecap by placing a pad on each side. If neededyou can place four pads totally surrounding the knee. Also, not on the above illustration, but occasionally people will suffer from pain in the back of the knee and placement on the back of the knee is acceptable too.

How long do AED pads last? Most people assume that once they have in-home or community AED units and medical supply kits, they're ready for any emergency situation. However, the unfortunate reality is that the typical life expectancy of AED pads is between 18 and 30 months. Luckily, the easiest way to ensure that your pads are emergency ready is to simply check the expiration date printed on their packaging.

AED pads have expiration dates printed on the packaging of each unit. They expire because the adhesive loses its stickiness over time and becomes less effective at holding it or other pads to the skin. Each AED pad model has different expiration dates and this is due to differences between brands of adhesive and/or differences in manufacturing processes.

Make sure you and your employees understand the importance of changing your AED pads on a regular basis and only use quality replacement pads designed specifically for your defibrillator model. AED Advantage offers maintenance programs to our clients and send reminders via monthly emails so you will never have to wonder when your accessories expire. 041b061a72
